Shawn Castro once again swam his way through the 2018 Palarong Pambansa and this year, coming home with his bronze medal.
The incoming freshman was hailed the third placer in his 50 and 100-meter breaststroke events held in 2018 Palarong Pambansa at Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
“2nd time in Palaro I feel that all of my hard work has paid off and I feel more relieved that all my efforts were meant for something.” said Castro who was also the third seed in the pre-elimination round.
In an interview with Shawn’s mother, Mrs. Aying Castro shared that she is very proud and happy for the achievements of her son. “Our constant motivation and support to him went well about proper lifestyle routine including healthy diet, very good rest, and proper mind setting.”
Amid all the glory, the young athlete dedicated his victory to his beloved family, friends, and school especially to Almighty God for giving his exceptional talents and skills.
Moreover, Shawn Castro was recently awarded as the Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Year in Region 3 Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association (CLRAA) and now performing at the most prestigious sports event in the country.
