To continue to realize its new vision to be the learning hub for creativity and innovation, the Montessori De Sagrada Familia installed new system software for the digitalized library materials for EBSCO and STARBOOKS subscriptions in both elementary and high school departments, July 26.
Through this system, Sagradan students can have easy access to various electronic resources of DOST-II STARBOOKS and EBSCO such as electronic journals, books, research materials, historical archives, and other useful references. This additional library facility generates thousands of innovative learning systems that would allow relevant information for the benefit of students’ learning.
“Online databases of EBSCO and Digital Science library of the DOST-STII are really important for research purposes. These new services of our library will surely support and meet the research and academic needs of the MDSF community.” Mr. Mamerto Tubis Jr., High School librarian said.
MDSF school librarians are committed to provide essential information and promote the love of reading and learning among the students and teachers.
Cyrus Kyle Sumat, a Grade 12 student, said “The use of EBSCO and STARBOOKS are indeed a great help in my studies as a student in MDSF. These contain valid and reliable sources of information that a student needs in his/her research, assignment, report or any academic endeavor.”
Meanwhile last July 21, teachers were given an orientation on how to navigate the said database for research and academic purposes. Mr. Josef Halos, EBSCOHOST Phils. Country Manager discussed the functions of digitalized materials to the MDSF faculty members. They were also given EBSCO user identification and password for on and off campus.
