As part of the new reform in Baliwag’s ECCD (Early Childhood Care and Development) Program, teachers from Montessori De Sagrada Familia open its doors to share different strategies and techniques in teaching early grades to help the community’s Day Care teachers to further improve their curriculum.
Thirty-six (36) day-care teachers from different barangays of Baliwag had their first leg of trainings and seminars which will be conducted every Saturdays from June 24 to July 29 with the Sagradan Pre-school teachers. The line-up of topics for each seminar are as follows: Early Childhood Literacy and Numeracy; Developmental Milestones of 3-4 years old children; Arts & Craft; Intentional Teaching; Storytelling; Assessment in Early Childhood Education; Teaching Strategies for 3-4 years old children; English Proficiency and Songs, Poems and Rhymes
Teacher Cecil, the focal person of the ECCD Program, said that they were once boxed in the traditional way of teaching and through the help of the following seminars and trainings that will be given, they will have the opportunity to become more aware of the new trends and adapt some of the strategies that are being done in the MDSF’s preschool program in teaching children and in helping them develop holistically.
The Sagradan Preschool teachers are very humbled and glad to be of service in the community. This is their little way of showing the sense of servant leadership which is one of the core values of the school.
