October 9, 2017- A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the open field of Montessori de Sagrada Familia, to mark the beginning of construction of the new Preschool Campus. The said event was attended by the school admins and preschool teaching and non-teaching faculty.
Because MDSF envisions to be the learning hub for creativity and innovation, it never stops dreaming for its students, and for the whole community. This was once again highlighted by the preschool assistant principal, Mrs. Maria Carmela Santos Ong, fondly called by her co-teachers as Teacher Cai. In her speech, she reiterated how the physical school environment could enormously put positive impacts on children’s development and learning. Thus, to build creative and innovative minds that can adapt and meet future challenges and market competitions, MDSF came up with an idea of building flexible and creative learning spaces that will promote authentic and relevant learning. Moreover, Teacher Cai mentioned that because of the growing population of the community, it is indeed needed to start endeavoring what they have dreamed of for the Sagradan community—to build a new pre-school campus.
MDSF President Mr. Alfredo M. Santos who happens to be administering the constructions of the school buildings within the past 20 years and Arch. Monique Villangca, an alumnus of MDSF will collaborate in supervising the construction of the new preschool building. The soon to be built MDSF preschool educational spaces and structures will be patterned with international schools like those in Singapore and South Korea. Furthermore, the interior design of the building is the result of the series of benchmarking that were done both local and abroad by the school administrators and teachers. A total of 20 homerooms and 10 specialized rooms for creation and exploration is what the project targets for.
The blessing of the site location was officiated by Father Turing Galman, parish priest of the Sagrada Familia Parish Church, Tangos, Baliwag Bulacan.
Furthermore, the closing remarks was delivered by the ever diligent and passionate pre-school coordinator, Mrs. Esperanza M. Manuel. “As most of you know, the preschool has been the foundation of the education in our growing institution. Thus, we in the preschool department will be committing ourselves in continuously serving the twenty-first-century learners of Baliuag and nearby towns with utmost love, care, dedication and individualization of approach.”, she said in her speech. The construction of the new preschool building surely brings nothing but pure joy, pride, and excitement, especially for the preschool department for this project, will be a pioneer in providing flexible, conducive and creative learning spaces in the province of Bulacan.
