“I wanted to put up a school for a very simple reason: I wanted to send my children to a learning place where both teachers and facilities are excellent.”
Those were the words coming from no other than the president or “father” of Montessori De Sagrada Familia, Mr. Alfredo Santos. His vision for his children simply reflects every father’s dream to provide his children with nothing but the best education. As my dad told me years ago, “Education is something that cannot be stolen from you.” Yes, we may have all the fame and riches but those are just material things which can expire overnight. No one beats the wisdom coming from a father.
As we celebrate Father’s day this weekend, let us always cherish the moments that we spend with our dads, fathers, popsies, tatays… whatever we call them. You have no idea about your dad’s joy the moment you were born in this world. You have no idea how much he sacrificed when he went abroad and battled loneliness, just to provide you with your needs and even your wants. You have no idea of his pride when you received your diploma during your graduation. You have no idea how broken was his heart when you decided to get married and have a life of your own separated from them. You just have no idea.
To all the fathers out there, we here in MDSF give you our highest honor and admiration. We sincerely acknowledge all your efforts. And most of all, we salute you for your immeasurable and unconditional love for your families.
Happy Father’s Day!
