Bringing back the good old days of storytelling fables, the Grade 11 students of Humanities and Social Sciences strand (HUMSS) take the challenge of narrating stories using Powtoon-inspired presentations at the Montessori De Sagrada Familia Preschool Department, February 12.
Grade 11 HUMSS students created different animations using the well-known video creator website today called Powtoon to exhibit their self-made fables as a performance task in the Creative Writing subject. The stories were written both in English and Filipino that showcased different animals such as pigs, ducks, and ants which acted as the main characters aiming to explain moral values that truly inspired the young hearts of the preschool children. These fables are said to be enacted first to the Grades 1 and 2 then to the kids of the lower level.
Preschoolers welcomed HUMSS students as their storytellers; and together, they watched videos with utmost excitement and interest.
“I felt overwhelmed and overall happy because I got the chance to share me and my group mates’ works to the young students. I felt that all of our hard work really paid off. Everything’s worth it,” expressed by Marian Quinto, a Grade 11 HUMSS student.
Meanwhile, MDSF continues to realize its noble vision to be the Learning Hub for Creativity and Innovation in making every student adept in media and information endowed with Sagradan attributes. Mr. Jared P. Manalastas, Creative Writing teacher, said that this is an opportune time for the students to showcase their flair in writing through digitalized materials to remind the younger generation about the importance of reading.
During the presentation, the kids loved the animated cartoons and had fun viewing fables. The same sentiment was also felt by the HUMSS students for the passion of sharing to other people were exhibited through this activity.
