Looking back to the school’s first step in becoming a hub for prospering students, the whole Sagradan community gathered as one to celebrate the Montessori De Sagrada Familia’s (MDSF) 23rd Founding Anniversary, December 18.
With the theme of “Blast from the Past: A Fusion of Beat and Jive,” the school’s high school department prepared different performances enjoyed by the Sagradan families.
The event started off with a prayer and the singing of national anthem, followed by Mrs. Maria Cristina S. Silamor’s, MDSF’s principal and directress, opening remarks before proceeding to the students’ presentations.
Sagradans caught the attention of the audience as they began with the Grade 11 students’ performances which rooted from their collaboration to create their own version of “Ang Huling El Bimbo,” filling the audience’s ears with Eraserheads’s songs partnered with their talents in production and acting.
Grade 12 students also presented their charms as they amazed the community with their performances under “Dance Evolution” with the songs from 60’s up to the present time.
Meanwhile, students from Grade 7 and Grade 8 provided a different feel to the crowd as they performed three musicals known for great songs and storylines entitled “High School Musical,” “Aladdin,” and “Moana.”
Lastly, Grade 9 and Grade 10 students colored the whole gymnasium with festive trademarks of different festivals as they danced to the “Dinagyang Festival” and “Aliwan Festival” in front of the MDSF families.
Sagradans ended the celebration as they sang and danced together to a community song before saying the school’s chant: Excellence in our blood, sense of family in our hearts, with smile on their faces.
