After two months of school break since April 2021, the Montessori De Sagrada Familia, Inc. opened another school year of remote learning last July 21, 2021. The school will continue to utilize its learning continuity programs: the Flexible Learning for the Young Sagradan (FLY) for pre-elementary – upper grade school levels, the Sagradan Access to Flexible Education (SAFE) for the upper grade school and senior high school levels and the Parent-led Approach for the Young Sagradan (PLAY). The school’s learning management system via www.mdsflms.com and productivity tools via Google Workspace are the primary learning tools/platforms to be used by students enrolled in the FLY & SAFE Learning Programs.
On the other hand, parents of Sagradans enrolled in the homeschool (PLAY) will be equipped and mentored as the former facilitate learning experiences with their child at home.
During the series of Parents’ Orientation Meeting held a week before the opening of classes, the school’s Principal, Mrs. Maria Cristina Santos-Silamor informed the community that MDSF has reached its target school population for SY 2021-2022 with over 200 new students (transferees), including 70 returning students coming from public schools. In her welcome letter addressed to Sagradan students, Mrs. Silamor encouraged everyone to “elevate” their virtual learning experience by setting challenging but achievable goals for the new school year.
A separate orientation day for new and returning students enrolled in the FLY & SAFE Learning Programs was facilitated by the Wellness Center last July 19, 2021. Aside from the “getting to know ” activities, a virtual tour of the physical campus and the members of the community, a walkthrough of the learning management system and the importance of following online learning netiquettes were presented to the new Sagradan students.
