No longer invisible to the eye.
In a world often dominated by academic pursuits, the Sagradan Virtues Project exemplifies Montessori De Sagrada Familia’s commitment to a well-rounded education. It encapsulates the very essence of our institution, transforming it into more than a hub of learning—it’s also a beacon of character formation.
At the heart of the SVP lies its vision to develop one’s character. It encourages every Sagradan to stand up for one another, creating a community that uplifts each individual and nurtures a safe, inclusive environment grounded in the values of love and justice.
Inevitably, students engage in petty arguments. These conflicts are like small fires that can get bigger if not handled well. Such disputes are common in schools, whether it’s about sharing classroom resources or differences of opinion. The Sagradan Virtues Project acts as a lighthouse in these situations, helping students make agile decisions by emphasizing love, especially when unsure about what’s happening. Similarly, in disagreements with classmates, instead of resorting to hurtful words, the Virtues Project reminds us to exemplify kind words. We may not always understand why someone else wants something, but treating them with respect is essential.
When everyone embraces the principles of the Virtues Project, our school can transform into a close-knit community—a classroom where students support each other. It becomes an ideal environment for learning, where everyone not only feels safe and happy but also naturally inclined to be kind.
Furthermore, positive reinforcement plays a pivotal role in the Sagradan Virtue Project. A tangible symbol of this is the “Sagradan Virtue Voucher,” bestowed upon students who follow its principles. These vouchers remind us of the importance of kindness and it recognizes and celebrates positive behavior, character, and values exhibited by the youth of MDSF. This voucher, given once a week per section, not only acknowledges their character but reinforces the idea that virtues hold intrinsic significance.
As Sagradan students, we take pride in being part of a community that values character development. The Sagradan Virtues Project isn’t just an idea; it’s an ember that ignites within us and by embodying these virtues, we not only grow personally but also contribute to a world where values are upheld, and relationships are nurtured.
So, the next time you’re asked about our approach to learning, while “21st century” may be the official term, it’s the Sagradan Virtues Project that truly captures the essence of our school’s spirit.
