“Nothing lasts forever.”
This is the universal yet somehow forgotten truth echoed by Mrs. Jovelina Inductivo, known to many as Teacher Jovy, as she prepares to leave her role as the Vice Principal for Student Affairs.
Teacher Jovy’s two-year endeavor as the elementary department’s VP was marked by a heart-crushing first half, with a battle against an illness that threatened to derail even the strongest. Yet Cancer, a word that carries the weight of an ocean did little to deter her commitment to serve her Sagradan family in the best way she possibly could in those moments.
As days passed Teacher Jovy still reported to the school amid the pandemic’s disruptive impact and despite the grapple of her physical ailment. Her resolve remained for “There is so much more to do,” she said,
“Every positive impact created through our initiatives of promoting inclusivity, improving our student’s well-being, and fostering a sense of belonging among the community drives me to move forward, and I could not be any prouder.”
If there’s truly an existing secret weapon in her battle against illness, she pointed out that the answer must be the fervent prayers of her cherished ones during those darkest hours.
“Their thoughts and prayers gave me strength. They empowered me not just emotionally and financially, but also spiritually,” she acknowledged, her voice laced with gratitude.
When asked for advice for those currently weathering their storms of adversity, she dispensed no false promises of smooth sailing through these treacherous oceans but instead acknowledged the excruciating nature of the journey ahead. Yet, she reassured, like all storms, “this too shall pass.”
“You’re not alone. Do not hesitate to lean on your support network, and avail yourself of professional guidance. No one should face their battles alone.”
“My anchor amidst this storm has always been the support of my loved ones—family, friends, and colleagues,” Teacher Jovy confided.
When asked about her hopes for the future of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) under the mantle of Mr. Christian Anthony Valino, Teacher Jovy said “I am confident in him, just always remember to remain steadfast with our faith, for God controls everything.”
As a woman leader, she envisions her story as a way to amplify women’s experiences and empower them in the workplace.
“Trials are temporary and a significant part of the human experience. Embrace a positive mindset, and always remember that everything will be alright, through God’s grace.”
“Nothing lasts forever… except the ripples we leave behind,” Inductivo continued.
