What does peace feel like?
Is it the comfort of knowing you are safe, the joy of being accepted, or the courage to speak when something feels wrong?
At Montessori De Sagrada Familia Inc., (MDSF) peace is more than just the absence of conflict. It is the feeling of being seen, known, accepted and supported — a shared experience that helps every learner feel that they belong.
Anchored in the celebration of 2026 National Peace Consciousness Month, MDSF Grade School Department took the chance of Building a Peaceful Heart and Joyful Community among every Sagradan Learner.
The month-long celebration culminated with a Thanksgiving Mass, a Peace Forward Donation Drive benefiting learners of Jacinto Ponce Elementary School, and the Joyful Community Builder Exhibit, where students showcased their reflections and learnings about peace, compassion, and community.
Our teachers also facilitated the Bullying Prevention and Conflict Resolution activities, where our Sagradans learned how Peaceful Friends, Hearts and Hands help build a joyful community.
The Bullying Prevention Campaign guided students in recognizing the difference between conflict and bullying, knowing when to seek help, and becoming upstanders who choose to support others and promote safety.
Through Conflict Resolution activities, students learned to pause before reacting, express their feelings, listen with empathy, and choose peaceful solutions when disagreements arise.
The celebration concluded with the learners’ Peace Promise and Peace Dove Activity, symbolizing their commitment to becoming peacemakers in their homes, classrooms, and communities.
These experiences reminded our learners that peace is not simply the absence of conflict—it is the choice to treat others with respect, speak up against harm, and help create a community where everyone belongs.
With peaceful hearts and caring actions, every Sagradan has a part in building a joyful community.
