An astounding back-to-back championship spot was seized by the Sagradan Penpusher Collaborative and Desktop Publishing and Radio Broadcasting Teams in the recently concluded EDDIS II Schools Press Conference Group Contests, September 18 held at Alexis G. Santos National High School.
Grabbing both top awards for two consecutive years, Editorial Cartoonist Fiona Andres said, “We all used our skills together resulting to a perfect outcome. We had our stressful moments but we didn’t let it hinder our performance.”
Champions from English Collaborative Publishing teams are Joshua Ardie Buco, Chloe Niguas, Cylla Michael, Cyrus Sumat, Lester Marfil, and Cherine Mangulabnan and Nicole Ante, Woody Santos, Jester Macalino, Karl Ortega, Joshua Esguerra, Fiona Andres, and Radyn Punla for Filipino category.
The English Radio Broadcasting team also reigned as Drei Banares, Mark Bolanos, Marah Salvador, Daniella Francisco, Hannah Benitez, Ali Valdizno III, and Hubert Samson ranked 1st place and another group from the Filipino team that consists of Vrent Garcia, Malique Concepcion, Stephen Manahan, Diane Concepcion, Ruel Simbulan, and Argie Gatdula won 2nd out of 18 groups.
Meanwhile, the 2nd Group for English team ranked 3rd are composed of Jennie Villanueva, Chryster Palacay, Kate Simbulan, Larina Dela Pena, Daniel Kabamalan, Third Guzman, and Ynigo Sagum and for the Filipino category are Joanne Villanueva, Federic Mariano, Joshua Navarro, Ella Mangulabnan, Kristian Asesor, Julianna Peru, and JR Mariano.
Special Awards were given to Kate Simbulan for Best in Script Writing (English), Jennie Villanueva for Best in Infomercial (English), Hubert Samson for Best in Technical (English), and Malique Concepcion for Best in Infomercial (Filipino).
Moreover, the Sagradan scribes together with their school paper advisers will advance in the forthcoming 2017 Division Schools Press Conference on September 26 at Bajet Castillo High School.
