It has been another historical day for the bemedaled Sagradan Vikings as they stamped their class once more in this year’s edition of Inter-school and Alumni Swim Meet held at St. Stephen’s High School in Manila yesterday, August 12.
Spearheaded by their coach Carlo Renomeron, the Vikings utilized their water skills in full gear as they captured 5 bronze, 7 silver, and 3 gold medals in several different events. Their campaign was highlighted by snatching the gold medal in the 200 Meter Free Relay courtesy of the quadrumvirate of Shiann Flores, Ashra Cruz, Jewel Venturina, and Aneeza Sarmiento. The same quartet also garnered the silver medal in the 200 Medley Relay witnessed by the hundreds of swimming fanatics all over Luzon.
Meanwhile, the other Vikings who reaped individual medals in the event are as follows: Jolo Reyes (bronze medal in 50 Meter Backstroke), Arnold Bernardo (2 bronze medals in 50 Meter Butterfly & 50 Meter Freestyle respectively, and gold medal in 50 Meter Backstroke), Miller Wisco (4 silver medals in 50 Meter Butterfly, 50 Meter Backstroke, 50 Meter Breast Stroke, and 50 Meter Freestyle), Jewel Venturina (silver medal in 50 Meter Butterfly), Aneeza Sarmiento (silver medal in 50 Meter Breast Stroke), and Gabriel Santos (2 bronze medals in 50 Meter Breast Stroke & 50 Meter Freestyle, and gold medal in 50 Meter Backstroke). Other Sagradans who saw action in the meet are Savannah Cristobal, Calista Felise Silamor, and Luiz Manese.
Aside from Montessori De Sagrada Familia, the Inter-school and Alumni Swim Meet were also participated by Assumption College, De La Salle University, Elizabeth Seton School, St. Paul College Pasig, Colegio San Agustin, and some various schools in the NCR. The Swim Meet was held in line with St. Stephen’s Centennial celebration with the theme, “God’s Faithfulness Through All Generations”.
