It only happens once, but the heavenly magic remains endless.
Grade 9 and 10 students of Montessori De Sagrada Familia (MDSF) cherished a night of elegance, beauty, and memory as they partook in the Sagradan Junior High School Promenade 2020 with the theme “Eterea” held at MDSF Social Hall, February 21.
Wearing their ethereally elegant suits and gowns, the students started the night with their grand entrance, walking with poise and grace. Meanwhile, words of encouragement were uttered by Bianca R. Bautista, Grade 10 student, to the Grade 9 students as she implored them to serve as models of excellence and leadership for the Sagradan community and henceforth passed the Key of Responsibility to Gian Somere Q. Montano, who on behalf of all the Grade 9 students, accepted it with assurance and affirmation.
Then, the Torch of Learning was received by Montano from Jian Martin G. Tenorio, Grade 10 student, who reminded the Grade 9 students to always put their best foot forward in whatever they do.
And the most awaited part—the Cotillion de Honor graced the night as the select students brought the old tale to the modern world through their graceful moves and turns.
The heavens said it all as Mark Gerold T. Fernandez and Mariel G. Pangan emerged as the Best Dancers while Franz Martin D. Mendoza and Zia Karylle D. Sumang as the Promenade King and Queen.
“All I wanted to do was just to follow the theme of the promenade—just to be in my best suit. So when I won as Promenade King, it was unexpected and I was really shocked and extremely happy. But what made me happier was when I saw my friends, teachers, and family happy for me,” Mendoza said.
The night was not over yet as the students enjoyed the rest of the night through dancing both in upbeat and solemn songs.
Indeed, it was a night to remember–a night full of memories to laugh at, to cry for, and to fall in love with.
