A dual onboarding event conducted by the MDSF Elementary Department paved the way for empowerment with the sharp-witted hashtag #Elempower.
The first day of the kickoff was led by the dynamic duo of Ma. Carmela Perez, AP Subject Area Supervisor, and Maria Jesusa Mangulabnan, MAPEH Subject Area Supervisor, last June 6. The event equipped and enabled teachers to rekindle their passion and enthusiasm for the new academic year ahead. The highlight of the session last Tuesday was the warm welcoming of new subject teachers, who were warmly welcomed into the elementary family. And to foster a sense of camaraderie, the hosts facilitated multiple games, like “Family Feud,” pitting grade levels against each other in a battle of quick thinking relevant to the reality of being an educator.
The heart of the event however was the series of empowering speeches delivered by members of the school’s Subject Area Supervisors (SAS). Each speaker’s anecdotes, overcoming challenges, and imparting valuable life lessons resonated throughout the hall. Sir Dan Angelo Bagadiong, Science Subject Area Supervisor, emphasized the double-edged power of education, and that there is a proper way to wield it – that is of course through lending and accepting a helping hand.
The afternoon session last June 6 focused on the onboarding of the Office of Student Affairs, spearheaded by their devoted Vice Principal Teacher Jovelina Inductivo. The department was divided into breakout rooms, allowing participants to focus and delve deeper into specific areas comprehensively. For example, Teacher Ma. Cristina Perez focused on event organization and its role in fostering a vibrant school culture.
The Elementary Department convened for its second day of onboarding on June 8, focusing on the main reason why people deem MDSF as the learning hub of creativity and innovation, the academic realm. Under the adept leadership of Sir Jomar A. Dela Cruz, Vice Principal for Academic Affairs, the event encompassed an array of breakout sessions, each allotted a dynamic duration of 30 minutes. These served as a clarion call to ensure that educational pursuits remain aligned with the realization of the institution’s vision, mission, and philosophy. An in-depth assessment of portfolios, LMS utilization, curriculum agreements, three-way conference during parent-teacher meetings, and the optimization of technological devices were some of the topics that were tackled as well.
Ultimately, the #Elempower event was a resounding success, leaving participants feeling equipped with the proper arsenal to fully realize the niche of the department, which is to create innovative and independent learners. This display of relentless pursuit of excellence remains the focal point as they forge ahead, paving the way for a generation of empowered and enlightened learners.
