The Sagradan Penpushers continued their campaign going to the Face-Off Round as 17 campus journalists snatched numerous awards in Phase 1 of the SDO City of Baliwag 1st Division Schools Press Conference held at Mariano Ponce National High School and Baliwag North Central School yesterday.
Fresh from their campaign from last week’s Cluster Meet where 41 Penpushers secured their ticket heading to the divisions, 17 scribes from both English and Filipino mediums have emerged as one of the Top 7 finishers of their respective categories propelling them into a much tougher Final round wherein the top three finishers will get an automatic slot to compete in the Regional Schools Press Conference next month.
Leading the Penpushers in the next round are the 1st place finishers of the DSPC Phase 1 headed by Clarenz Josef Ramos (Pagsulat ng Balitang Agham at Teknolohiya), Janmiel Tenorio (Pagsulat ng Lathalain), Rahziel Mariana Bañares (Features Writing), Rhian Santos (Photojournalism), and Satomi Otsuka (Pagkuha ng Larawang Pampahayagan). Completing the cast for the face off are Rency Santos (3rd Place, Sports Writing), Xairylle Arcega (4th Place, Pagwawasto at Pag-uulo ng Sipi), Jamillah Moira Torres (4th Place, Pagsulat ng Lathalain), Jaehee Jang (5th Place, Photojournalism), Tara Aliyah Aparece (5th Place, Pagkuha ng Larawang Pampahayagan), Alexis Robert R. Nuesca (6th Place, Copyediting and Headline Writing), Lian Arabella de los Santos (6th Place, Pagsulat ng Balitang Isports), Luis Antonio Buenaventura (6th Place, Pagwawasto at Pag-uulo ng Sipi), Jashley Megayle Sangil (7th Place, Photojournalism), Dhafnie Yambao (7th Place, Pagsulat ng Lathalain), Louise Alexandra de los Santos (7th Place, Sports Writing), and Michaela Aquisha De Guzman (7th Place, Pagsulat ng Balita)
Making it to the top ten of the first phase are Julian Reyn Mariano (8th Place, Pagkuha ng Larawang Pampahayagan), Julianna Vergel de Dios (8th Place, Copyediting and Headline Writing), Ayeza Zimoune Galvez (10th Place, Pagsulat ng Balita), and Maxene Isabel Sarmiento (10th Place, News Writing).
School Publication Adviser Vhon Joseph Solomon was hailed as the 3rd and 2nd Place Highest Pointer SPA for English and Filipino respectively, while Montessori De Sagrada Familia was adjudged as the 3rd Place Overall School Highest Pointer.
The DSPC Face-Off Round will commence next week at Dr. Guillermo dela Merced Memorial School next week.
