Montessori De Sagrada Familia, Inc. (MDSF) begins School Year 2026–2027 with the implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar across the Grade School and High School Departments, creating a more focused, flexible, and meaningful rhythm for learning.
More than dividing the school year into three terms, the new calendar provides more time for meaningful learning, assessment, projects, feedback, and remediation, while clearer term checkpoints allow teachers and learners to reflect and adjust. Buffer days also provide flexibility for class cancellations, while monthly independent study days encourage self-directed learning, project work, enrichment, and reflection.
The system also offers a more predictable and manageable schedule, supporting better coordination of school activities and reducing disruptions and administrative workload.
For Sir Jomar Dela Cruz, Vice Principal for Academic Affairs, Grade School, the new calendar supports a more balanced approach to learning.
“The Three-Term School Calendar provides our community with a more balanced, focused, and responsive rhythm for learning, allowing students and teachers to deepen learning, sustain well-being, and create meaningful opportunities for growth throughout the school year.” Dela Cruz shared.
Aligned with MDSF’s Joyful Learning Framework, the Three-Term Calendar reinforces the school’s commitment to purposeful learning and continuous growth as it celebrates its 30th year.
