A two-peat win for BulPriSA declamation category, JHS level was copped once again.
MDSF was able to defend their crown in the declamation competition yesterday, September 20. Out of 36 participants, Nicole Ericka Sioson left the judges in awe of her interpretation of the piece entitled “Diaspora” by Leomicio Offemaria Corpuz. She portrayed the role of a Muslim daughter who was trapped in between the crossfires of a furious armed encounter between Christians and Muslims. She was able to perfectly deliver the proper emotion needed to convince the judges that she is done with war and wants to go back to her haven if only peace could be attained.
Last year, MDSF took the whole District III by surprise when they emerged as champion in the portrayal of another Sagradan, E-Jillian Canoza, now an alumna of the said school.
“Proper interpretation of the piece coupled with a highly spirited student to portray the role with no-holds-barred is the key to a very effective execution of any declamation piece”, the coach, Mrs. Lalaine L. Mañosca exclaimed. Mañosca said that she has high hopes for her delegate. She knows that Nicole has what it takes to become a potential winner if only the latter believes she can. True enough, Nicole made a huge transformation, from a low-esteemed student into a dauntless delegate that has won the hearts of her audience.
Meanwhile, their journey isn’t done yet. Their victory paved the way for them to compete in the Provincial meet. Hopefully, they won’t lose their flare and continue to make the whole MDSF community proud.
