“What truly matters is the first step towards change we Bulprisans have to take. We make change happen, right there, right now.”
These are the powerful words uttered by the 2017 BulPriSA District III Oratorical Champion.
A Filipino-American student from Montessori De Sagrada Familia bagged first place in the Bulacan Private Schools Association (BulPriSA) District III Meet Oratorical Contest today.
Twelve students from different schools joined the contest, with 13-year-old Jaeda Johnson, a Grade 8 student, emerging as the champion.
Johnson said that her most unforgettable experience is probably today.
“The support from all my friends and everyone was amazing. It was fun to practice and perform. I owe it to my coaches.” Johnson added.
Johnson captivated the attention of the judges and spectators with her vibrant oratorical skills as she talked about this year’s theme “BULPRISA: Facing the Challenge of Change”
Her speech revolved around the unprecedented change in today’s world, inevitable circumstances of BulPriSA, and spared Filipinos’ moral character, as well as necessary technical skills, knowledge, and competencies among the youth.
Ms. Jerusha Eve F. Ong, teacher-coach, exclaimed her joy when Johnson won in the contest. She said they were both happy and thankful for this unforgettable experience.
Moreover, Johnson will represent the District III in the forthcoming 2017 BulPriSA Provincial Meet Oratorical Contest this coming October.
