Montessori De Sagrada Familia’s (MDSF) essayist, took home the crown by winning fourth place in the Bulacan Private Schools Association (BulPriSa) District III Essay Writing Competition (Senior High School) at Living Angels Christian Academy (LACA), September 17.
Alessandro B. Bañares, Grade 11 student, was triumphant in his first ever participation in the said competition.
“First time ko talaga mag Essay Writing pero fourth time ko na sumali sa BulPriSa,” Banares said.
According to him, he had a slight advantage in the event by having a background in feature writing as a part of the Sagradan Penpushers.
Bañares also explained his strategy and information gained during his training: “Read a lot, arm yourself with facts, enjoy, and think outside the box,” he said.
Meanwhile, his coach, Sir Jared P. Manalastas, rejoices his victory over all the hard work both he and Bañares experienced.
“I feel so proud about this achievement. It only proves how God is really good to us. All efforts paid off,” Mr. Manalastas said.
He shared their experiences as he recounted the strenuous training they went through.
“Writing is a tedious academic work. Thus, we undergo several exercises to hone further his flair in writing. We update ourselves in the current news and read a lot to increase our awareness. Remember, excellence does not come overnight,” he added.
