Montessori De Sagrada Familia returns to the national stage as our delegates for badminton and swimming events forged their bid for a Palarong Pambansa slot after their scintillating performances in the recently-concluded CLRAA held at Malolos, Bulacan.
Aneeza Julia Sarmiento, Jewel Caroline Venturina, Shawn Joseph Castro, and Althea Gianne Carlos of the Sagradan Vikings, together with Zeth Quiambao of badminton cruised to the ultimate sporting spectacle as they ruled their respective events during the CLRAA meet representing Team Bulacan. Sarmiento bagged the gold medal as she ruled the 4×50 Medley Relay, silvers for 4×50 Freestyle Relay and 100-Meter Breaststroke, and bronze medals for 50-Meter Backstroke and Breaststroke respectively. Castro snatched 4 golds for 4×50 Medley Relay, 200-Meter Individual Medley, 50-Meter Breaststroke and 100 Meter Breaststroke, a silver for 100-Meter Freestyle Relay, and a bronze for 100-Meter Butterfly. Both Sarmiento and Castro were recipients of the Most Outstanding Swimmer of Bulacan, which was awarded prior to CLRAA Meet.
Venturina joined the circle of winners as she grabbed a gold for 4×50 Medley Relay, 2 silvers for 4×50 Freestyle Relay and 50-Meter Butterfly respectively, and a bronze for 100-Meter Butterfly; while Carlos captured 2 silvers for 100-Meter Freestyle Relay and 200-Meter Individual Medley and 3 bronzes for 100-Meter Breaststroke, 4×50 Medley Relay, and 4×50 Freestyle Relay. Completing the cast of Palaro qualifiers is Zeth Quiambao, ruling the four corners of the badminton arena by nabbing a gold for Badminton Elementary-Singles and a silver for Elementary-Team event.
The Sagradan qualifiers will shoot for final glory as they represent Central Luzon to compete in the upcoming Palarong Pambansa which will be held from April 15 to 21 this summer in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
