To promote servant leadership, Montessori de Sagrada Familia, Inc. (MDSF) students elected a new set of officers, with Ma. Alliyah Juliana Gatuz as the new mayor of the Grade School Student Council (GSSC) during Election Day and Miting De Avance with the theme “Boses ng Sagradan” on August 22.
Gatuz, who previously served as a class beadle, clinched 446 votes out of 560, adding another feather to her cap of the three-year leadership journey.
“I want everyone’s ideas to be heard and to offer innovative solutions that are fun and engaging,” she promised as she emphasized her commitment to community-focused leadership.
The Miting De Avance unfolded in the MDSF gymnasium, where both the VOICE and BRIGHT parties laid their cards on the table, presenting platforms aimed at enhancing every Sagradan’s campus life.
Both parties hit the ground running with room-to-room campaigns during the month leading up to the election, zeroing in on inclusivity and collaboration.
Ultimately, even those who didn’t secure a position were reminded that leadership opportunities are always within reach.
Vice Principal for Student Affairs Mr. Christian Anthony Valino emphasized in his speech that leadership is ongoing.
“Remember, leadership is a journey, not a destination,” Valino said.
Echoing this sentiment, Student Program Coordinator and GSSC Adviser Ms. Clarisse Glem Dela Cruz said that it is not about the position but the mission.
“Manalo o matalo, everyone can be a leader,” Dela Cruz expressed.
