BUSTOS, BULACAN – Constantly pressing forward and beyond, The Sagradan Jr. (TSJ) copped nine awards and was ranked 2nd highest pointing school in English category at the EDDIS Level Schools Press Conference held at the Bustos Municipal Gymnasium last March 5.
Pia Nouvell Lopez of 6-Kepler and Megan Edrea Ladao of 5-Voyager pitched in their significant shares by acquiring gold in Science-Technology writing and Photojournalism, respectively.
“Work hard sa training pero wag mo i-pressure ang sarili mo, chill lang,” Ladao stated when asked about her preparations.
TSJ team amassed 39 points in English medium and 10 points in Filipino, securing their school paper adviser Reinlois Felipe with a second-place ranking in the English category among all participating schools in EDDIS II.
Felipe said the Juniors’ apparent goal is to always promote responsible journalism through their craft.
“Everyone did their best, and the essence of responsible journalism is about upholding the truth,” Felipe said.
The young scribes’ first-ever PressCon propelled them in five categories namely news, science-technology, and feature writing, as well as photojournalism and editorial cartooning.
Eight students will compete at the upcoming Provincial Schools Press Conference (PSPC) this March 18 at the Banga Elementary School against all the Educational Districts of Bulacan.
