As the holiday season’s spirit sparkles on the horizon, Montessori De Sagrada Familia (MDSF) lit up its majestic Christmas tree at the first-ever “Paskuhan sa Sagrada” event on Wednesday, December 12.
Held in front of The Chapters Social Hall together with the Christmas Bazaar, this event stood as the centerpiece of MDSF’s week-long foundation day festivities.
Directress Mrs. Maria Cristina Silamor led the ceremonial countdown from 27, symbolizing the institution’s 27-year legacy.
“Tonight, we witness MDSF’s first-ever Christmas Tree Lighting,” Mrs. Silamor declared.
The crowd, comprised of students, faculty, families, administrators, and alumni, collectively enthusiastically participated in the premier countdown, echoing the event’s theme: “Happy, Healthy, and Extraordinary.”
To kick things off, the audience was treated to a heartwarming spectacle: a unified dance number performed by MDSF teachers spanning preschool, elementary, and high school before the main hosts, Mr. Christian Anthony Valino and Ms. Rojana Evangelista, took the stage, setting the tone for what promised to be an unforgettable Paskuhan.
Meanwhile, to foster engagement in the crowd and grant prizes, Mr. Jansen Bacani and Ms. Ma. Cristina Perez, student program coordinators, tapped the presence and support of cameramen in the venue to capture the best smiles and poses from the audience, creating yet another memorable snapshot of the celebration.
In addition, representatives from dance troupes like Indak Sagradan,, Elite Shakers, The Sagradan Movers, and Sweetmates Dancers infused the atmosphere with infectious grooves, energy, and rhythm.
Musical acts, including Butterfly, The OT’s, Decibelles, Sir Mj and Teacher Sophia, Ms. Laica and Teacher Claire, Himig Sagradan, Wonder Band, The Melody Makers, Celestial Rhythm, The String Theory, El Voces Dorados, and The Half of Ten, enriched the ambiance with heartfelt renditions of Christmas classics.
As the encore of the night, the band Sunday’s Free, featuring Vanessa Mendoza, engaged the audience with covers of favorites like ‘Jopay’ by Mayonnaise, transforming the campus into a lively dance floor filled with laughter and spontaneous dance moves from attendees.
“Paskuhan sa Sagrada” encapsulated the culmination of the community’s 27 years of love for creativity and innovation, dedication, and generosity, embodying the true essence of Christmas and exemplifying the Sagradan spirit: always aiming to reach for the stars.
