Montessori De Sagrada Familia, Inc. (MDSF) strengthens its commitment to employee well-being through its Wellness at Work (WAW) program, providing teachers and staff with opportunities to care for their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
As part of the initiative, MDSF designated a specific officer for Employee and Development to help lead programs focused on employee welfare, growth, and professional development.
WAW offers two wellness formats: Wellness Pods and FIVE-DIY Wellness. Wellness Pods offer HR-led activities during Professional Development (PD) Days, while FIVE-DIY Wellness allows employees to choose their own wellness activities every Day 5 based on their interests and needs.
The program is anchored in the school’s Sagradan Joyful Learning Framework, recognizing that a joyful learning environment begins with teachers and employees who are well and flourishing. With the demands and high expectations of the profession, MDSF provides opportunities for employees to pause, recharge, build connections, and nurture their well-being.
For MDSF, employee wellness is also about sustaining teachers in their vocation and helping them continue to find meaning in their work.
Grade 7 adviser Sir John Louise Ortega shared how the school’s wellness initiatives have helped him reconnect with colleagues beyond their professional responsibilities.
“The school’s support for employee wellness helps me connect with my co-teachers and friends beyond work-related matters. We get to share about our lives, play games, and enjoy time together, which helps me relax and recharge. It has helped me regain my strength and return to work feeling refreshed and motivated.”
Through WAW, MDSF continues to emphasize that employee well-being is an important part of building a joyful and thriving school community, one where teachers and staff are supported not only to work, but also to grow, connect, and flourish.
