A grade three pupil of Montessori De Sagrada Familia (MDSF) will advance to the provincial science meet after topping the science quiz bee in the recently concluded BulPriSA District 3 Meet 2018 held at the Living Angels Christian Academy, Baliwag, Bulacan last September 19.
Louise Alexandra R. Delos Santos of 3-Aquamarine bested 45 contestants in the district level of the science quiz bee after scoring 20 out of 25 backbreaking science questions given by different coaches of different participating private schools, making MDSF a back to back champion in the said academic event.
According to the young lady, two of them scored 19 in the first round. She said that she was nervous as she faced another quizzer who also scored 19 in a tiebreaker round. With determination plus her natural intellect, she managed to answer the tie breaking question and knocked out he opponent that made her hitch the gold medal.
Beaming with smile, her coach, Mr. Jomar Dela Cruz, Subject Area Coordinator for Mathematics in the Elementary Department said that her ward really deserved the gold medal after their rigorous training every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. “Reading and understanding 3 to 5 science books is definitely exhausting, but Louise managed that since June. She deserves that award. “ Dela Cruz explain.
The questions asked to the contestants were given by all the coaches after the grueling deliberation round. It also passed the sensitive eye of the quiz master who is a Science Professor of Bulacan State University.
After victoriously defending the gold medal of MDSF from last year’s win, Delos Santos will face the other young science whiz of Bulacan in the Provincial Science Quiz Bee this coming October.
